What is Not Covered in the Warranty?
- Damage caused by attempts other than HEXcores to repair the Product.
- Damage caused by not providing adequate protection from the elements. Adequate protection includes, but is not limited to an overhang extending out at least three-quarters the distance from the bottom of the door to the bottom of where the overhang begins and extending at least 3 feet (3′) past both sides of opening. More overhang may be necessary in areas with extreme weather conditions to adequately protect the door. Proper overhang significantly decreases the chance of warping, checking and delamination caused by the sun and precipitation.
- Any door that is specified by the customer where the veneer plank is over 8 inches in width. Our standard manufacturing practice advises against any wood veneer planks to be over 8” in width due to the potential splitting of this natural material.
- Product failure due to improper installation.
- Damage caused by failure to comply with the finishing, handling or care instructions provided by HEXcores. Including but not limited to damage caused by improper handling or on-site storage once delivered.
- Solid-edge doors: Damage caused by improper trimming. Improper trimming includes removing any more material past the solid wood edge, leaving the LVL exposed.
- Edge-banded doors: Any edge-banded doors may not be cut along the hinge and latch sides of the door (vertical dimensions of the door).
- Damage caused by improper sealing of any of the six-sides of the door and all hardware cutouts. All edges and cutouts must be sealed immediately after fitting and hanging with the integrity of the finish maintained.
- Defects caused by bow or nonalignment in the frame or jamb in which the door is hung or improper hanging.
- Natural variations in the color or texture of the wood including variations in the appearance of “Product” from Factory Distressing.
- Variations or unsatisfactory results in gloss level, texture or appearance resulting from the field application of paint or other finishing material.
- Damage from extreme surface temperatures due to use of dark finishes on doors exposed to sunlight.
- Slight expansion due to differing environmental conditions.
- Damage caused by temperature and moisture buildup where a storm door is used.
- Damage caused by others or by any cause beyond the control of HEXcores, including but not limited to, damage caused by normal wear and tear, weathering (including corrosion of components in seacoast applications); customer misuse, abuse, neglect or alteration; or, fire, flood, earthquake, storm, tornado or other acts of nature.
- Doors shipped out of the continental US, Hawaii, and Canada.
